Meet Pastor Kevin

Pastor Kevin Peterson grew up in a very small town in rural southwestern Minnesota, receiving an associate’s degree from Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN in 2001 and a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies from the Minnesota School of Business in 2010. He had experience in blue collar work and white collar work, but he felt a pull to the Office of Holy Ministry all along.  Pastor Kevin, his wife Angie, and their young daughter Chelsea moved to the St. Louis area in 2017 where he began his full time study at Concordia seminary.  He did his vicarage in Florissant, MO, welcomed a second daughter, Anna, into the family, and then completed his seminary coursework with a Master of Divinity degree before coming to lead the ministry here at St Paul in Addison in August 2022.

For leisure, one of Pastor's biggest passions is movies.  He enjoys critiquing and analyzing films, and has instituted a monthly "Theology in Film" night where parishioners and guests are invited to view and discuss films on a wide variety of topics.  Pastor Kevin is also a piano and

organ player, and delighted the congregation early in his tenure here by going up to the balcony to play the organ for a congregational hymn sing.  As a first generation LCMS Lutheran, Pastor greatly treasures the doctrines we teach.  He enjoys helping show others how they can be traced through history from the reformation, to the early church fathers, to the apostles, and on through the Old Testament to the beginning of time.  He hopes to help the members at St. Paul continue on in those timeless truths, showing how they are still relevant for people in Addison in the 21st century.
